General Rules for 2008 Year End Awards

LEA Year-End Award Divisions

DRESSAGE: awards for both Juniors and Seniors

• Training
• First
• Second
• Higher Levels*
  *All levels above 2nd will be will be grouped together -
    with the best score determining the placing
   

Musical Freestyle Dressage*:

• Quadrille -         (Jrs & Srs combined) Intro through Higher levels - USDF rules or Test
• Pas de Deux - (Jrs & Srs combined ) Intro through Higher levels - USDF rules or Test
• Juniors Individual Musical Freestyle - Training - USPC rules   Technical   Artistic
                                                                         1st thru Higher levels - USDF rules
• Seniors Individual Musical Freestyle -Training - USPC rules   Technical   Artistic
                                                                         1st thru Higher levels - USDF rules
  
  *All level rides in the above four categories will be offered as "test of choice".
   (ie riders can show at any of the indicated levels, but all compete for one award in that category)
    A minimum of 2 scores must be submitted.
    The Average of the highest 2 scores in a category will determine the placings.
  

COMBINED TRAINING: Awards for both Juniors and Seniors

• Amoeba
• Tadpole
• Pre-Novice
• Higher Levels*
  *All levels above Pre-Novice will be will be grouped together -
    with the best score determining the placings

HUNTER-JUMPER Divisions will be restructured as follows;

  HUNTSEAT EQUITATION & HUNTERS: Awards for both Juniors and Seniors
  (will be divided into the following fence heights - if participation warrants)

• 18" division
• 2' division
• 2'6" division 

SCHOOLING JUMPERS: Awards for both Juniors and Seniors

• 18" division
• 2' division
• 2'6" division

Rules and Regulations

1. All awards will be based on a horse/rider combination (EXCEPT EQUITATION CLASSES). You must be a member of the LEA to accumulate points toward year-end awards.

2. If a horse/rider combination wins a year-end championship for a particular level or division, they will no longer be eligible for awards at that level. You may continue to compete at that level but you will not be eligible for a year-end championship award a second time in the same division.

3. At combined test competitions, only horses designated as Dressage Only will be allowed to tabulate points toward Dressage year end awards. In other words, dressage tests ridden for a combined test will not tabulate for a dressage year-end award.

4. Horse/rider combinations can only qualify at two levels during the award year. You will automatically be calculated for the two highest levels shown. If you are showing at three levels during a year, do not turn in the results from the highest level if you want to qualify for a year-end award at the lowest level.

5. Only shows which are approved by or affiliated with the Lanier Equestrian Association will qualify for year-end awards.

6. Horse/rider combinations must attend at least two shows to qualify for year-end awards. They must have at least two scores at each level for combined training and schooling jumpers, at least four scores at each level in dressage, and at least six scores in each division for hunters.

Tabulations:
FIRST PLACE - 7 points
SECOND PLACE - 6 points
THIRD PLACE - 5 points
FOURTH PLACE - 4 points
FIFTH PLACE - 3 points
SIXTH PLACE - 2 points
PARTICIPATION - 1 point

TIES IN DRESSAGE AND COMBINED TRAINING WILL BE SETTLED BY AVERAGE SCORE.
