Let Me See

Since the weather was nearly perfect, it set the same tone for the whole day. With the exception of the wind whipping numbers off jumps faster than we could put them back on, the whole show ran like clockwork. Even with the jumping running at the same time, there were very conflicts.

The jumping course was fun but challenging (especially with numbers disappearing!). Even though it was the first time on a jumper course for a lot of the riders, they picked it up quickly and put in some great rides and fun jump offs. The course tended to favor the more handy jumper so even the small guys still had a good chance.

The gymkhana as always had the final say in which team would claim the top team title and it was Stephanie Meek's day as she dominated the adult novice gymkhana and pulled enough points to push her team to the top.

It was really great to see so many new faces at the show and the best part was everyone, even the new ones, seemed to embrace the spirit of the games and have fun with their horses. Some teams went to great lengths to decorate and coordinate their horses and clothes. The Valley Girls were in neon pink, the HALLoween Freaks were dark and gittery, the leaping leprechauns had all kinds of green going on, and the DQ Old School from England were quite upright in the shadbelly waving the royal wave.

Pictures are already poping up on facebook, but hopefully there will be some on the website soon.

Thanks again to all who supported and participated in the show. It is very fulfilling to see so many people taking advantage of what the club has to offer!!!!
